Comparative Advantage in International Trade: A Study Based on Meat Exports in Pakistan

This study examines the export performance and competitiveness in meat sector of Pakistan. employs different indices revealed comparative advantage such as RCA, RSCA, LnRCA, RCA#, RTA, RMA, RC TBI to analyze advantage. The data have been taken from International Trade Center (ITC) UNCOMTRADE statistics on exports imports Pakistan during 2004-2020. findings RCA# RSCA indicate that faced a disadvantage 2004-2010, while was observed 2011-2020. Further, index import (RMA) depicts competitive these products RTA had net-competitive this results describe net- exporter concerned analysis. positive values (RC) illustrate selected time span. will be helpful for government formulate policy consultation with exporting processing companies encourage vertical integration value chain.
